Born Ji Lan Ji, Kitty Noir immigrated to the United States at a young age. She was found on the street as an infant, enduring decades of addiction and childhood trauma. Kitty Noir’s scars, trauma, fear, and journey through sobriety are what fuels her songwriting.

KITTY NOIR

Ji Lan Ji, known professionally as Kitty Noir, is a Chinese-American singer/songwriter. Participating in various plays, talent shows, and bands as a child, Kitty Noir developed a passion for music. Her first single “Never Go Back” went viral on Tik Tok, striking the hearts of thousands of healthcare workers around the world during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Early Life

Ji was found on the street in Guangzhou, China, placed in an orphanage as an infant, later brought to the United States through adoption, birth parents unknown. She suffers from chronic illnesses such as Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, spending most of her later teenage years in hospitals and doctors offices. She spent most of her childhood in Cleveland, Ohio, then moved back to Huntington Beach, California in 2021.

Musical Career

Ji Lan Ji began singing at an early age, taking vocal lessons and playing flute in the school band. During her teenage years, she began creating You-Tube videos, amassing over five million views on her video “Skaters v.s. Haters.” Years later she recorded her first viral single “Never Go Back” during the COVID-19 Pandemic, gaining worldwide exposure from the Healthcare Community. Growing a local fanbase by performing at various Hollywood nightclubs and open-mics, Kitty Noir has developed a love for performing and engaging with her audience. Her first official independent EP, “Fly” was created in October of 2022 and set to release on January 1st of 2023. After several unfortunate events in her early career, Kitty Noir is currently fully independent and taking the reins on her music career. Her album "Child of Heaven" was written and released in 2023, soon followed by a follow-up album "Metaphorical Arsonist."
